Here comes the first official release from the CyanogenMod Team in 2014. The guys at CM have finally managed to push out the CyanogenMod M2 builds to it's users to cherish the first weekend of this year. 

An ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is one among the most preferred debugging tools among the Android users who wishes to get the most out of their devices. It serves as a connecting bridge between the PC and Android device enabling you to do a variety of advanced operations using the appropriate commands.



It always creates a mess for some users during the installation of ADB as it involves grabbing a bulky package and adding it's path to access it from anywhere on the PC. Anyway it's time to forget all those unpleasant steps involved in setting up an ADB on your Windows PC. XDA Forum member snoop5 has introduced a Windows only tool which makes ADB installation too short that it can be done in 15 seconds.

The tool package weighs just 9.26 MB and installs ADB, Fastboot and the necessary drivers automatically within the above said time period.

If you are a Sony Xperia Ion user then you must have definitely felt disappointed since your device has not received any official or unofficial stable OS updates since the official Android 4.1.2 update. There is something yummy coming out for you from XDA Senior Member MrGezz and Recognized Developer RaymanFX. The combined efforts of both these guys have resulted in an unofficial CyanogenMod 11 built for Xperia Ion.


This Android 4.4 Kitkat build comes in with high stability and will surely serve as a daily driver. Bugs have been found with the LED indicator which doesn't light up while the device is plugged in for charging. You may also see that the the battery percentage doesn't appear correctly in the status bar; which doesn't mean that your device is not getting charged.

You might have heard of the BootUnlocker app baked up by XDA Senior member segv11 which allowed the Android users to unlock and re-lock bootloader without wiping the data. This app supported all the Nexus devices except both the generations of Nexus 7. It seems that the developer doesn't want the Asus manufactured Qualcomm based Nexus 7 (2013) users to go unnoticed by his app. Here comes BootUnlocker v1.5.1 with its support extended to 2013 edition WiFi and LTE versions of Nexus 7. Sadly, the Tegra 3 chipset based Nexus 7 is still unsupported and the chances are minimum due to technical limitations.


Since the last OTA, Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 began setting the tamper flag when the bootloader is tampered or unlocked. This new version of BootUnlocker offers a solution with the ability to toggle the tamper flag on Nexus 4 (mako) and Nexus 5 (hammerhead).

The HTC Pico (Explorer) which landed on the smartphone arena on October 2011 shipped in with a 600 MHz processor, featuring 3.2 inch display and 512 MB RAM can now have the Sense 5.0. Credits of this Sense 5 port goes to XDA Senior Member xaak.


The port is based on a system dump on HTC Desire 500/600. It brings a lot of extras into Pico including the Blinkfeed and slicker user interface. xaak also acknowledges recognized developer cute_prince for contributing the ION kernel which forms the base of this achievement.

This Sense 5 port is in its beta and can be considered a daily driver as everything including the GPS, audio, touch screen and mobile data works great. You may find unsolved bugs with the camera and video recording which is quite common since it is just in it's beta awaiting moderation and fixes.
